Basic technical data:
- Installed capacity of biomass and gas boilers: 17 MW
- Total average consumption: 25.000 MWh
- Energy savings: 20%
- Reduction of CO2 emissions: 80%, i.e. 6,000 t/year
Status: implementation in progress in 2023
The project includes the long-term supply of thermal energy for the Vranje district heating system from newly built boiler houses at two locations, where wood biomass will be used as the base energy source, in combination with natural gas for peak consumption. The implementation will be carried out in 2 phases, which are conditioned by the mandatory complete reconstruction of the existing and the addition of the missing heating pipe, so that it will be possible to connect new users, and to centralize energy production to the greatest extent possible.
