Status: project completed
The initiative to launch a public-private partnership (PPP) project on energy services for the implementation of energy efficiency improvement measures and guaranteeing savings in operational costs at Veljko Vlahović Primary School in Kruščić originated from the Municipality of Kula, following a detailed energy review (DER) of the facility.
The investor and client of the DER – the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP Serbia) – has engaged Negawatt Solutions LLC from Belgrade to draft a proposal for this project.
The goal of the project is to introduce energy-saving measures by implementing a set of measures (construction, mechanical, and electrical) to achieve savings in ongoing expenses for electricity and heating energy, as well as in operational maintenance costs.
The implementation of the project will improve air quality by substituting oil with natural gas and highly efficient heat pumps, which will also positively impact the reduction of CO2 emissions and various other harmful gases resulting from oil combustion. CO2 emissions are expected to be reduced by as much as 96%.
The project guarantees energy savings, with an expected total primary energy savings for heat production of up to 87.21%, functionality of energy systems, as well as financial savings in the state budget for the operational functioning of the primary school, meaning savings in costs for energy used for heating, cooling, lighting, and the operation of other equipment and appliances.
Considering all the above, this project is of exceptional importance due to its socio-economic and ecological value.
